Having a Limited Edition Print is a wonderful way to collect La Cour's unique artworks!

La Cour’s Limited Edition Prints are gicleés on canvas or archival paper with a longevity of over 200 years under normal lighting conditions. A La Cour Original Limited Edition Print will stay fresh longer than an original watercolor under normal conditions.

Gicleé (pronounced “zee-clay”) comes from the French word, meaning to spray ink. A Gicleé is a reproduction of an artist’s original. Pigmented inks that cover the full gamut of color that the artist uses (which is why they look almost exactly like the original) are sprayed on the canvas or paper in tiny droplets of approximately one million per square inch.

The word limited is used as the artist limits each edition to a fairly small number of prints per each painting image. This low number insures each Limited Edition Print remains valuable.

When placed in a frame these Limited Edition Print are almost impossible to tell from the Original. Limited Edition Prints are shipped flat unless you purchase a frame as well.

Below is a description of the types of Limited Edition Prints available, and below that are the prints that you may choose from.

Limited Edition Type	Description
Signed & Numbered (S/N)	These limited edition gicleé prints on canvas are individually signed and numbered by Marcelle La Cour to correspond with the accompanying certificate of authenticity.
Artist Proof (A/P	Traditionally reserved for the artists authorized distribution and has a considerably smaller edition limitation than S/N. The image is physically identical to the S/N image, but has an additional stamp on the canvas identifying it as an A/P. It is also designated with the letters A/P following the print number.
The Gallery Archival Paper Edition (G/E)	This special Gallery Paper Edition gicleé is printed on high quality artist’s archival watercolor paper, and hand signed by the artist in metallic ink.
Studio Edition (S/E)	The Studio Proof canvas gicleé is a special edition, hand embellished with a textured brush strokes that recreate Marcelle’s actual brushwork. The artist applies the final highlights herself; hand signs the front of the canvas. Each Studio Edition is designated by the letters S/E after the print number. Due to the exclusivity of these semi-originals, all Studio Editions are of limited distribution.
