Dreams Don't Lie

Dreams can die
where hate abounds
joy-torn
hope-shorn
they make no sound

Dreams can lie
upon the ground
sodden
trodden
the lost, unfound

Dreams can cry
to be unbound
from fears
failed years
wishes, unwound

Dreams can sigh
one’s heart surround
alive
survive
all hell-sent hounds

Dreams faced, fly
they never lie
one’s glory found
forgive
to live
the truth is crowned
