Can You Do This For Me?

Can you halt a moment in time?
Can you keep a vision,
dearly treasured,
without wearing it thin?
Can you hold close precious seconds
chained each to the other
by your own will,
hoping that by throwing away the key
to the lock that holds them together,
they will last forever?

Can you capture the rapturous look
of an instant,
the intense flare
of a love born
and raised to maturity
in the moment of your grasping it?

Will it last
in all the fiery kaleidoscope
of it’s emotions,
painted in the clearest colors
of it’s own beguiling birth?

Between the tracks of time’s passing,
can you still the breathy breeze
that lifts a straying lock of hair,
glistening under the sun’s dancing light,
brilliant, bright,
reflected in the flash of eyes alight
with passion’s lance,
suddenly revealed beneath entrancing lock,
directing and projecting into your heart
a bursting warmth
no mere sun’s heat
can match?

Can you stay the memory of that kiss
that in it’s first brush
of wondering lips
melted all other thoughts
into one surging, driving desire
to sate the burgeoning fire
blazing along the pathways
of sensation’s design,
leaving you wanting such again
and again through time?

Can you learn the way –
not to keep traveling time at bay,
but to keep love’s delight and glory
growing in a continuous line
that keeps living life breathing of the divine,
throughout all time?

It can be done
I tell you true.
The path can be learnt,
it is not new.
But it’s not for fools
who seek their pleasure
handed them on gleaming tray,
a treasure they cannot ever measure,
for in the next day,
they throw it away,
betraying a love they thought would stay.
They did not pay their way with their own glories
given in full, devastating array.

The game one seeks to play
throughout a life,
through night and day
IS play.

Play out your love upon the day
as if it’s the first lilting song ever born on a ray
of a new morning’s shimmering sun,
Play your passion through every night,
in all the ways your imagination knows is right.

Underneath a star-dusted blanket lit
by glimmering moon’s light
lies the road one can travel
if one has the might
to journey to the end
despite any stop, worry or fight
and in spite
of life’s inevitable twists
and deceiving bends.

The DECISION is all,
then to KEEP it,
shining and clean,
a treasured trophy standing tall
on the wall of your own will.

So win your way through each following day
bathed in love’s laughter,
sharing hearts to each other bound,
boundless in an eternity of all
that one can conceive it to be.

Can you,
will you,
do this for me?
